Kirby Caruana

Kirby Caruana is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in Ethics Education. She serves as Head of Department for Ethics Education at the Ministry of Education, where she leads curriculum development and supports teacher professional growth. A recognised professional development expert, she designs and delivers programmes and teacher training initiatives to strengthen Ethics education in Malta.

Alongside her leadership role, Ms. Caruana lectures part-time at the University of Malta and the Institute for Education Malta and serves as a Teaching Practice Examiner within the Faculty of Education. She has contributed to the development of national examinations within MATSEC and is engaged in several national working groups on education policy and curriculum design. Her contributions to educational discourse include presenting at major conferences both nationally and internationally, notably Malta’s 10-Year Anniversary Conference on Ethics Education and UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week 2024.
